This is a technique utilised by my father, to learn almost anything cleanly and very easily. This is in fact a method fine tuned by him; the name is given by him too.
Let me explain how this works.
Take a chapter in your book, for instance.
Let’s now learn the first two pages of this chapter.
First, read the two pages, in the following stages.
Stage 1: Just read from first to last, and underline all the important parts, using a pencil.
Stage 2: Read only the underlined ones and highlight the part where you are stuck at (you can mark using a highlighter).*
Stage 3: Read only the highlighted part, and mark if there is any part still not fully digested, using a mark at the beginning of the line(you can use and asterik/ any symbol you like)
Stage 4: Read only those lines which has an asterik/symbol at its beginning.
Usually every part of the material will be thorough for you by the time you complete stage 4.
If any part is still left to be digested, write down those things and learn them separately.
---
However, even after doing all this, 70% of things will be forgotten if you do not repeat.
So, repeat.
Stage 5: Review the lines beginning with asterisk within 24 Hours
Stage 6: Review the lines beginning with asterisk within one week
Stage 7: Review the lines beginning with asterisk within one month
If you repeat like this, you can retain 80% of the things, which is usually sufficient.
And by the end of this procedure, you will be knowing the specific material very clearly- in fact, crystal clear!! How easy and simple, also very much useful!
---
The bottomline:
*We try to copy paste things from pages of books to our brain.
And we think this process is a stressful job.
In reality, it is not so.
If you know the specific stages, it is almost like doing a copy- paste from one part of your computer to another!*
The real difference is that your brain need multiple iterations to effectively 'paste' the item.
